Glaucoma Evaluation & Treatment

Glaucoma is an eye disorder in which a long term increase in the pressure of the eye causes damage to your optic nerve. The optic nerve is responsible for sending information from the eye to the brain. Glaucoma is often referred to as the “silent stealer of sight” because in most cases there is no pain and no symptoms until the disease is very advanced.

During your routine eye examination if we notice any changes to your eye that might be consistent with glaucoma, we will schedule you for a follow up appointment for a glaucoma evaluation. Several tests will be completed including an in-depth test of your peripheral or side vision. Afterward, we will discuss our findings with you and answer any questions you might have.
